23 August 2007 — Too much wine and too much song

Here’s a little friendly advice: When you’ve run out of gin and vodka, that’s the universe’s way of saying, “Hey, how about some water for a change.” It may sound like the universe is saying, “Now would be a good time to drink a bottle of that Spanish red wine you picked up,” but you would be wrong. So very, very wrong.

You can see where things started to fall apart: somewhere around the time I got the idea to play Paula Cole’s Where Have All the Cowboys Gone. When I start playing cowboy songs, you can tell there’s been alcohol involved.
