13 September 2007 — Deb’s Beach Saves the Day
Linden Labs started a new music development mailing list for people interested in music in SecondLife. Almost immediately a kerfuffle erupted between those who say that Live Music is the only Real Music, those who say that DJing is Also Real Music, and those who say What Exactly Do You Mean by DJing?
I’ve never called myself a DJ. I play records for my friends in the hope that they will 1) think I have exquisite musical taste, 2) buy the music I play, especially that of the smaller artists, 3) introduce me to even more music.
Tonight I had a lot of fun new music ready.
But it must have been something I said since in the middle of everything Lappet came down like a bad cold, and we were never able to get back. Luckily, Deborah offered her beach, I had a Dance Foo dance ball, and on we went. I did have to scramble a little for beach music, and, of course, a remix of Sand in My Shoes.
